Big enough to articulate the holistic user experience (end-to-end) and small enough to focus on the details that matter. We re looking for a strong visual and interaction designer who will establish design standards based on solid usability principles and can bring ideas to life through journey maps, wireframes, and compelling prototypes. If you want to play an essential role in defining the vision for user experience within a growing global company then come join our team!Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop business requirements and related business rules based on customer needs.Identify requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, workflow analysis, and functional decomposition analysis. Solicit requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.Participate in daily stand-up meetings and other regular meetings to facilitate the understanding, clarification, and implementation of requirements in an Agile development environment.Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.Define, document and story board user needs, wants, problems, concerns, etc. and interpret these into requirements and user stories to be used to design and develop the solution.Collaborate with the broader project, product and development teams to build the best solution or product possible for our users working toward establishing the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needsDevelop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language and user stories to create best-in-class user experiences, along with and user documentation and materials.Qualifications and CharacteristicsAbility to understand software development framework, architecture concepts, and terminologySolid understanding of user experience and user-centered design concepts, methodology, and processes.Experience designing software and/or responsive web-based solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and work separate projects in a fast paced & dynamic company environment and extremely tight timelinesAbility to work independently with limited direction or as part of a teamKnowledge of and experience with usability research and testing methods.Strong analytical, project and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirementsRequires a four-year college degree (e.g., B.F.A, B.S., B.A., degree in development or design-related field, Computer Science, Business Information Systems preferred)1+ years experience working in an Agile software development life cycle methodologyExperience in Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and Team Foundation Server technologies.Intermediate to advanced skills in design and prototyping software; Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Axure, InVision, Balsamiq, Visio, Omnigraffle, among others.Leadership Competencies Creative Problem Solving Provides innovative solutions to complex interaction and functional challenges, considering a variety of technical, business, and client / user input, collaboratively.Integrity- Behaves in an honest, fair and ethical manner; shows consistency in words and actions; does what she/he commits to doing; respects the confidentiality of information or concerns Client Focus- Takes action with the clients, both internal and external, and sees their needs as a primary focus; builds a sustaining collaborative and productive relationship with clients; seeks to understand client situations, issues, expectations, etc.; takes appropriate action to meet client needs and address concerns; implements or utilizes methods to monitor and evaluate client feedback.Results Driven- Sets stretch goals for personal and team accomplishment and works tenaciously to achieve those goals; acts with a sense of urgency; takes the initiative on actions; identifies what needs to be done and takes action before being asked; does more than what is normally required in a situation; establishes metrics to monitor progress and measure success; maintains focus by avoiding or overcoming roadblocks.Entrepreneurial Orientation- Proposes innovative business opportunities/ideas to customers and business partners; encourages and supports entrepreneurial behavior in others; demonstrates willingness to take calculated risks to achieve business goals.Decisiveness- Makes well-informed, effective and timely decisions even when data is limited or solutions produce unpleasant consequences; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; has the ability to make tough decisions.About Epiq Epiq Systems solves problems faced by the legal profession in managing high volume, complex electronic data.
