Microsoft Lync 2013 and Skype for Business provides the delivery of Unified Communications across the business, utilizing the full range of functionality including enterprise voice (telephony), conferencing, federation, video and persistent chat.
The UC engineering role will require a highly motivated and skilled engineer that will be responsible for the engineering activity in support of this platform as well as day to day management of the operational support services for these technologies. The role will require working in a global team ensuring standards are always maintained as well as providing technical expertise and guidance to other teams.
Applicants should have previous experience of working within an environment where Lync/Skype for Business is fully deployed and used as the primary telephony platform within the organization. Experience of integrating 3rd party voice recording, compliance and switchboard systems is desired as is experience with session border controllers, SIP and traditional conferencing systems.
Familiar with a variety of telecommunication concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Relevant industry certifications required.
Provides support to all voice systems. Analyzes issues, troubleshoots problems and develops solutions for operational telecommunication problems.
Participates and contributes to Unified Communications team. Duties include developing and implementing plans for the continued improvement of MTD s voice and video networks.Assists in site rollout implementation, end user training, and Service Management support team transition.
Coordinates Telecom circuit provisioning for local and long distance carriers.
Maintains routing between disparate voice systems.
Ensures that all telecom support issues are handled promptly with a minimum of down time or user disruption and inconvenience. All requests for Unified Communications actions are logged, tracked, and delivered in a timely and professional manner.
Establishes and monitors system metrics that can be used to measure communication systems availability and performance.
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems and equipment

* Five (5) years experience in telecommunications specializing in Microsoft Lync/Skyp Enterprise Voice and/or Avaya phone systems preferred
* Two (2) years experience in medium to large voice and data network administration
* Experience with Acme Packet (Oracle) Session Border Controller a plus
* Audio/Visual experience a plus
* Call / Contact Center IVR experience a plus
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Periodic travel between MTD remote locations may be required
24/7 on call rotation with some after hours and weekend work
