UNIT SUPERVISOR / SUPERVISOR / REGISTERED NURSE / RN
WORK SCHEDULE: FT EVENINGS, ROTATING WEEKENDS
The position is responsible for the shift-to-shift activities. The Unit Supervisor provides leadership in direct accordance with the organization and departmental philosophy and goals. The position will assist the Manager and Director in maintaining the highest level of expertise in the clinical and operational performance of the unit. Performs as a staff nurse as needed
Coordinate the flow of patient through the NICU
Coordinate the use of Human Resources in department to ensure patient care needs are met
Assist in the evaluation of clinical competency and identify opportunities for continuous performance improvement
Participate in direct patient care
Utilize appropriate management and delegation principles
Serve as a resource to staff, physicians, and customers.
MINIMUM EDUCATION / LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners required.
Current CPR - healthcare provider, issued by American Heart Association required.
Current NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E. required.
Minimum three years of nursing experience with at least one year in level lll Neonatal Intensive Care area Leadership and experience in NICU Department Operations (I.e., Charge Nurse, committee chair, ect.).
At least one year in Level II Neonatal Unit.
