We are seeking a Senior/Lead Experience Designer to join our Global Experience Design team to own and drive the experience design of HP 3D printing product and services. In this position, you will build trusting and influential relationships with business and R&D teams. You will use your exceptional design skills and experience to define and deliver truly transformational customer experiences. And your work will ultimately help HP democratize manufacturing for designers, engineers, and makers of all kinds. Our ideal candidate will have broad design capabilities. Required skills include a strong command of research methods and experience frameworks, and demonstrated talent to convert observations and trends into valuable and actionable user insights. You must be able to lead and collaborate across design disciplines to define, specify, and prototype groundbreaking experiences. And via your partnering skills with development partners, you will generate empathy for users and advocate for the customer to see your design intent be realized in production.* Responsibilities
* Leads overall user experience design definition, strategy and execution for HP 3D Workgroup print products and services. Responsible for researching, planning and producing holistic experience concepts and specifications that optimize the user experience across all medium (hardware, software, environment, etc), for specific touch points of the complete solution; for the mutual benefit of HP 3D print business, customers, users, and partners.Responsible for gaining user insights and leveraging them to drive design direction or improve existing designs. Work within this job family falls into three major categories:
(1) enhancements - changes to original design and extensions to existing programs. (2) new experience designs (3) strategic experience design - new or improved ecosystem experience, experience architecture, etc. Establishes and maintains world-class experience design for HP 3D Print customers, users, and partners, in partnership with HP 3D Print design and development. Researches, defines, designs, prototypes, validates and specifies the holistic end-to-end experience workflow, architecture and components for HP's 3D print products and services, in collaboration with internal and external partners. Establishes, maintains and communicates descriptions of users, personas, and experience pillars. Manages customer knowledge and insights acquisition and application into designs. Establishes and manages experience design projects including schedule, resources, deliverables and reviews, in partnership with design and the 3D print development programs. Leads multiple project teams of designers and internal and outsourced partners responsible for all stages of user experience design and development for a portfolio of complex products and platforms, including experience/ information architecture, validation, and specifications. Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced partners on user experience design and development. Establishes and manages usability targets and thresholds. Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with user experience design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and user experience. Provides domain-specific expertise and overall user experience design leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and experience design practice into projects and activities in the design organization. Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members* Qualifications
** Education and Experience
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Design, Human Factors Engineering, Social Sciences research, or equivalent. Minimum 6-10 years' experiencedeveloping user experience strategy and designs across a range of platforms and devices, including hardware, software, and services. Strongly Desired:
direct experience in 3D print product design, or other industrial equipment design Strongly Desired:
direct experience with 3D CAD software applications and 3D print workflow.
* Knowledge and Skills
* Proven experience with application of design theories, principles, and concepts to a portfolio of multiple information technology and consumer products and services designs. Proven ability to research, design, prototype, test and execute world-class user experiences in collaboration with design disciplines to define and create holistic, end-to-end customer experience designs. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Broad understanding and experience in designing and implementing research and data collection plans for user experience testing and acceptance. Reviewing and evaluating designs for alignment with overall product architecture; recommending and implementing changes to designs and technology to improve product quality and overall user experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate user experience data, design proposals and product specifications and negotiate options at senior management levels.*
