Utility Operator

Assist in the operation & maintenance of high productivity melting furnaces.

-Load/Unload materials and product

-Inspect Condition of product to ensure quality

-Interpret and control furnace conditions

-Have a strong learning aptitude

-Operate equipment (tow motors, overhead cranes & hoists)

-Maintain records and logs

-Clean out furnaces during maintenance cycles

-Operate cutting torch, grinders, saws and drill presses

-Must be flexible with work schedule, available for any shift and also for overtime and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Associates degree from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education & experience-Possess one or more skills at the apprentice level: welding, machining, mechanical/millwright, MIG & TIG weld, Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge, machining skills or basic electrical circuit knowledge.-Read & interpret documents -Write routine reports & correspondence-Calculate figures & amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, & volume.-Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit & climb or balance. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear & must frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision**- Work Environment: The employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and must be able to work in small or confined spaces.
