JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Our client, an industry-leading and rapidly growing consumer products company located in the northwest suburbs, that is #1 in unaided awareness, is seeking a world-class Marketing Communications leader to take their communications planning and execution to the next level. This is a new and key position for the continued growth of the company and the VP will own the brand marketing budget, set communications strategies and manage both internal teams and agency partners.
Reporting to the EVP of Marketing, this creative and analytical VP will lead all brand marketing communications across national and regional media--including broadcast, print, digital, direct, social, PR and consumer promotions--and will develop the creative and media strategies that ensure best in class creativity, effectiveness and efficient use of resources. The position will lead both consumer and trade marketing strategies; supervise integrated marketing, direct-to-consumer and shopper marketing teams; own relationships with key brand creative and media partners; and work with key retailers to integrate brand marketing activities with retailer programs.
Ideal candidates will be able to challenge the status quo and take on the competition and the new entrants to the field who have raised the bar.
QUALIFICATIONS: Chicago area candidates only. BA in communications, journalism, marketing or related field, MBA preferred, and 15-20 years' client-side experience in consumer and brand communications for CPG and consumer products manufacturers with a track record of leading breakthrough consumer, retailer and B2B programs. Broad experience in communications development and media planning across a full range of both traditional and emerging media channels is required. Strong leadership skills and excellent influencing, communication, customer marketing and agency management skills are required for success in this position
