VP, Software Engineering

Well funded startup company in the Online Media / Financial space is developing the next generation of media buying and selling solution. Founders and Board members are serial technology entrepreneurs from top Online Media and Financial companies and are looking for top notch Software Engineering lead to join the company and manage the development efforts towards our Beta release.
You will be responsible for BUILDING the team but you will also be getting down and dirty doing hands on coding while the team is being built. You must be comfortable with both and be in a role where you are currently coding. Responsibiliites and Qualifications:
Thrive in a fast paced, startup environment.
Hands on system design and coding skills. Experienced in one or more of the following: distributed systems, data mining, market algorithms, machine learning.
Must have 8+ years of proven experience managing software engineering teams and bringing products to market on schedule.
Hire and manage and lead a team of top engineering talent and Machine Learning experts with proven experience from industry leaders.
Have a record of hands on experience with online media solutions and/or financial markets solutions (Ad Exchanges, Ad Networks, behavioral targeting, bidding optimization, Game Theory, Financial Software solutions and the like).
Hold a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline or relevant work experience.
Have excellent communications skills to collaborate with business owners and product management team to define product architecture and roadmap.
Extensive programming and delivery experience, strong OO skills preferred, C++ or Java.
