CIO Partners, a leader in Executive Search, Search Augmentation, and Recruitment Strategies, has been retained by BOSTON SCIENTIFIC, to lead the search for the role of VP OF IT, DIGITAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY OFFICER.

SUMMARY

It is important for Boston Scientific to develop state-of-art IT Digital Health and Healthcare Solution technologies that will allow their businesses to better connect their life saving products and services with patients and customers. It must also ensure they remain competitive in the market place.

It is the responsibility of the VP of IT, Digital Health Technology Officer to attain that goal. He/She will develop the vision, strategy, technology and implementation plan to make digital health technology an effective working component within their businesses.

Must have an excellent combination of both business and technical skills in order to successfully design the functional and technical aspects of the business strategy and then lead the IT organization to execute its components. This role reports directly to the CIO.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Accountable for establishing and evolving the IT Digital Health vision for Boston Scientific, and driving the planning, implementation, and operation of the global information technology to support this vision for Boston Scientific.
*

Manages the intersection of Sales, Research and Development, Marketing, Clinical, Health Care Solutions and Information Technology along with outside vendors and entrepreneurs to design solutions.
*

Must gain a strong technical understanding of their business and customer needs. Influence Business Leaders to identify and adopt new digitaltechnology initiatives to improve their products, enhance patient and physician engagement and increase revenues.
*

Develop the strategic technology plan for the organization by identifying, tracking, and experimenting with new and potentially disruptive technologies and execution plans.
*

Partner and guide cross-functional teams (Globally) to ensure successful delivery of solutions from concept to launch.
*

Conduct business-level verification and market testing of new programs while becoming an expert on other products in the marketplace.
*

Justify investments and secure funding. Control budgets and expenditures as appropriate.
*

Be "go-to" person and strategic leader in the company for IT Digital Health platforms and solutions.
*

Develop "Innovation Labs" to facilitate agile development and 'minimal viable product' idea generation.
*

Evaluate how technology can be used internally by the business to: 1). enable new business models and business lines; 2). increase revenues, and 3). preempt a competitor's attempts to use technology to disrupt or dislodge market position
*

Lead the IT Business Intelligence/Big Data/Analytics team which has responsibilities beyond Digital Health, and is integral across many programs.
*

Develop systems roadmaps that optimize our future system deployments.
*

Lead the Application Integration and Interfaces team, responsible for 100% of the existing and development of all new integrations.
*

Lead the Mobile development team, focused on both internal and external mobile application development.
*

Build a team to support Health Care solutions and IoT. Look to hire a Digital Health solution architect.
*

Partner with Chief Information Security Officer to ensure protection of all data and information across all digital health platforms, interfaces and integrations, and big data analytics.

Supervisory Relationships:

Responsible, through Director level management, for overall site or corporate staff function or for one or more functions in a plant, business unit, division, or region.

Determines actual organizational structures and allocation of subordinate management responsibilities.

Operations Involvement/Direct Work Involvement:

Responsible for the overall strategic management and operation success of assigned functions and for successfully integrating these activities with those of other major organizational segments.
*

Monitors progress of assigned functions toward organizational goals; monitors company-wide indicators such as market share and profitability; monitors the external environment including changes in the political and social climates, economic trends, market conditions, and international business.
*

Makes recommendations regarding problems that cross multiple organizational areas; provides creative solutions to key problems facing the organization; anticipates changing demands or environments and initiates action to position the company appropriately.

Qualifications:

*

Bachelor of Science a must, Masters preferred.
*

10+ years Information Technologyexperience.
*

5+ years' experience in Life Sciences industry and familiarity with Life Science Quality regulations.
*

Experience in delivering digital health solutions.
*

Experience in 1-2 Senior roles within an IT organization.
*

Experience managing a global team.
*

Demonstrated results managing across matrix organizations and among peers.
*

7+ years in program management with demonstrated experience managing multiple large projects concurrently.
