Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history\.The Vehicle Engineering Organization within the Aerospace Systems Engineering and Global Product Development \(E&GPD\) organization has multiple openings for qualified applicants in the area of Structural Design & Analysis, Subsystems Design & Analysis, and Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis\.Northrop Grumman is seeking Structural Design & Analysis engineers to work within an Integrated Product Team to support the design of aircraft primary and secondary structure detail parts assemblies, and installations using both metallic and composite material systems\. The Vehicle Engineering Organization is also seeking Subsystems engineers with experience in aircraft mechanical and/or fluid subsystems to support efforts associated with design, analysis, integration, test and troubleshooting of Air Vehicle Mechanical and Fluid Subsystems including Environmental Control Systems \(ECS\), Thermodynamics/Heat Transfer networks, Hydraulic Systems, Fuel Systems, Engines, Secondary Power, Crew Systems, Mechanisms and Controls\.Selected Structural design candidates will work under minimal supervision and interface with leadership, suppliers, customers, other technical disciplines to independently complete designs using NX and Teamcenter tool suites and will perform trade studies, prepare product design and build packages, support product manufacturing and integration, and lead technical teams engaged in the listed activities\.The Structural Analysis candidate shall be capable of the following; perform static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program\. Ensure that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives\. The analyst may also be expected to derive non\-flight applied loads, create, extract and distribute internal loads, and perform weight and stiffness optimization\. Tools utilized may include FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications\.Responsibilities will include some, or all, of the following:
+ Define and derive subsystem functional and performance requirements+ Support subsystem trade studies and conceptual designs+ Develop detailed design build\-to\-packages using 3D Modeling and Product Lifecycle Management \(PLM\) software+ Develop subsystem performance models/analyses+ Generate statements of work and component specifications necessary to support the procurement process+ Interface with and manage subsystem suppliers+ Generate development and acceptance test proceduresSuccessful candidates will be self\-starting engineers able to perform duties without appreciable direction, or only under consulted direction toward long\-range goals, capable of mentoring junior engineers, developing estimates & schedules, leading ground based development test efforts, and leading technical teams engaged in above activities\.Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field from an accredited University\.+ 6 years of direct experience in an industry related field\.+ Current and active security clearance or the ability to obtain a clearancePreferred Qualifications:
