Rush University Medical Center presents an opportunity for a VETERAN/INDIVIDUAL WITH DISABILITY TALENT CONSULTANT to join our team. This role assists with the development and implementation of compensation training and projects. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.


Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Veteran/Individual with Disability (IWD) Talent Consultant will partner with TA/Recruiting organization to develop a comprehensive Veteran/IWD Program for Rush University Medical Center to include building a talent community of veterans and individual with disabilities to source world-class Vet/ IWD talent for a variety of roles at Rush University Medical Center. The Veteran/(IWD) Talent Consultant will apply his/her previous sourcing and/or recruitment experience to developing relationships with recruiting colleagues, HR, as well as external agencies and organizations to identify and attract the best Military, Veteran and IWD talent to Rush University Medical Center. The Veteran/( IWD) Talent Consultant takes a proactive, high-touch approach to building strong talent networks in groups of long-term value and importance to Rush and will be responsible for positively impacting, monitoring, and reporting key engagement, outreach, and hiring metrics associated with the Veteran/IWD Program.




Develop a comprehensive Veteran/IWD Program with measurable outcomes.


As an experienced Recruiter, the Veteran/Individual with Disability (IWD) Talent Consultant will proactively source and recruit the best Military, Veteran and IWD candidates for employment by actively participating in job fairs, college recruiting, business association meetings, networking, and other activities. This role will be responsible for talent pipeline building in key areas of business aligned with our business and diversity strategies.


Develop strategies and actively source candidates for roles at Rush with a focus on identifying diverse talent of Veterans/Individual with Disabilities (IWD) through various digital media, sourcing channels, and local and national outreach efforts.

Develop an effective pipeline of diverse talent available through both active and passive candidate identification, relationship building and tracking.



The Veteran/(IWD) Talent Consultant is responsible for advancing strategic diversity initiatives with a focus on the Veteran/Individual with Disability (IWD) workforce at Rush University Medical Center by recommending, developing, implementing and managing Diversity and Inclusion employment programs and initiatives at Rush.


Identify new diversity, veteran, and individuals with disabilities partners and resources.

Influence business leaders to participate in programs, events, and champion our external relationships with diverse organizations.


The Veteran/(IWD) Talent Consultant will serve as a champion, strategic partner, and thought leader for recruiting Vet/ IWD talent by staying informed of best practices, benchmarks, competitors and developing relevant sourcing and recruiting approaches that are aligned with Rush values.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for reaching out to the VET/IWD communities, deep experience designing and implementing working on a variety of diversity initiatives to include program development, understanding of industry D&I best practices, excellent project management, communication and analytical skills, demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate cross functionally and execute effectively to ensure D&I objectives are met.



Demonstrated experience developing, executing, and measuring diversity program, sourcing and recruiting strategies required.

High technical aptitude and Internet savvy to include experience in mining online databases required.

Strong influencing and results driven attitude required.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and a variable workload required.

Strong work ethic, initiative, sense of urgency; proactive and the ability to work within a team required.

Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills required.

A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in human resources preferred, previous staffing and/or talent acquisition required.

A minimum of three (3) years of program development, implementation and management experience required.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in data analysis and interpretation preferred.

Previous experience in health care, pharmaceuticals, health insurance or related industry preferred.

Bachelor s degree (or higher) in Human Resources or related field; minimum of 5 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background required.

Must be a US Military Veteran.

Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment required.

Ability to use critical thinking, innovative thinking and manage multiple projects with varied size and scope required.

Previous experience managing diversity recruiting strategy, external partnerships, and in-house resource groups required.
