JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Seeking a Vice President Marketing, Retail Dealer Channels for a manufacturing company based in Lakeville, Minnesota with 2,000 employees and $500M in revenues.
The Vice President Marketing, Retail Dealer Channels will define the long term strategy and process to grow sales and profits for our clients independent retail dealer channel. This individual is the key partner with the dealer sales team, delivering sales tools, messaging and channel communications in support of achieving sales targets and profitability goals. In addition, this individual will lead a team of marketing professionals in support of the marketing goals; providing coaching, development, and motivation.
Some of the key areas that define success for this individual in the first 6 to 12months include: Create and define a strategic framework to develop, own and execute sales tools, messaging, and channel communications, Define and develop team to support the execution of strategy - hire, train, and coach, In partnership with SVP of Sales, own and deliver the sales forecast, Create and implement a promotional planning process, Define and execute a distribution and merchandising strategy that effectively supports the brands plan and supports the dealers business, Define and execute the annual channel/trade programs, Plan and execute channel/trade events and shows that support long term customer relationships, Drive the following Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) - Net sales revenue, Communication effectiveness, Portfolio market share, Promotional effectiveness, and Balance of sales within each customer.
Keys to success include the ability to partner with othermarketing and sales leaders, influencing and gaining alignment on key strategic priorities. It will also be important to provide strategic and operational leadership to the broader marketing team and other stakeholders. Ensuring channel marketing communication efforts support the brand and channel strategy, positioning, and identity is critical.
Strategic thinking - able to think both long-term and short-term to develop actionable and well defined strategic marketing plans, Communication skills - both verbal and written; able to effective communicate to various audiences and levels of the organization, Leadership skills - able to motivate, coach and develop a team of marketing professionals, Able to organize, plan and manage multiple plans and priorities in a very fast-paced matrix-structured business, Financial management - knowing how to manage budgets, measure marketing effectiveness and efficiency to ensure delivering on corporate profitability goals. Bachelors degree in business administration, marketing or a related field, An MBA is preferred, A minimum of 15years of progressively responsible and successful experience and leadership in marketing strategies, including channel and trade marketing, retail store development, and brand management, and Consumer durables experiencepreferred.
