SteelWave CDS, Inc. was established in 1996 and since inception has averaged $19M in renovation and improvement projects annually.
The Vice President of Design and Construction will be responsible for managing the design and construction of all of SteelWave's Multi-Family projects, reporting to the Managing Director of SteelWave CDS, Inc. The position will be based in Foster City, CA at the corporate headquarters.
Responsible for the implementation and management of all multi-family design and construction - overseeing the general contractors and prime subcontractors, architects, consultants, engineers and vendors to ensure program compliance.
Assist with developing construction cost estimates, budgets, proformas, and the associated schedules and timelines. Coordinate the development and approval of architectural and engineering construction documents, working with the various jurisdictions and agencies through the permitting process.
Ensure bid documents and contracts encompass complete scope of work.Manage project to minimize change orders and claims.
Develop, monitor and maintain construction projet management systems as necessary to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents - on time/on budget.
Maintain all required progress and construction status reports and approvals.
Monitor logistics, safety, and quality throughout the construction process through completion and CofO.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or related discipline, or equivalent to appropriate 4-year program and a minimum of 7 years of construction management/supervisory experience required (will consider a similar combination of education and experience). Must have an understanding and general knowledge of the multi-family real estate and development industry and possess effective organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Other essential capabilities include commitment to meet deadlines, integrity, work ethic and by air to the various western US cities and states in the SteelWave portfolio.
