POSITION SUMMARY: Plan, organize, recruit and direct the volunteer opportunities for the Rape Crisis program. Organize on-going trainings as needed, and represents the Rape Crisis program at local events, and meetings by educating and informing the public of volunteer opportunities and services offered at Centerstone Rape Crisis. Understands the issues surrounding sexual assault and the needs of victims and their families.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BS in Social Work, Social Sciences or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years related work experience in direct service preferred. Experience in sexual assault programs is a plus, as well as bi-lingual.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: ACT Training. OAG Training. Bilingual

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of various computer systems and how to run PowerPoints, and other basic software programs when training volunteers. Team oriented, able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and crisis situations. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, be assertive and well organized


Organizes, coordinates, and manages the recruitment of volunteers for the Rape Crisis program

Conduct interviews with potential volunteers and works with HR representative in guiding the volunteer through the qualification process

Prepare and maintain handbook for training and orientation of volunteers

Conduct orientation of new volunteers

Represents Rape Crisis program at local events and meetings

Offer support to victims of sexual assault through on-call (24/7 hotline rotations) on an as needed basis and train volunteers to do the same

Support to Law Enforcement, Hospitals, and other places where sexual assault victims may be located through 24-hour on-call response and train volunteers to do the same

While on-call or as needed, provide advocacy, case coordination, emotional support and outreach services to victims and their families and train volunteers to do the same

Able to explain and assist victims with Victim Crimes Compensation and train volunteers to do the same

Able to explain the Criminal Justice System to victims of sexual assault and their families and train volunteers to do the same

Able to inform victims of sexual assault of their rights as victims and options, train volunteers to do the same (5% VOCA).

Complies statistical information regarding the volunteer program for various reports and grants (2% VOCA).

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION TYPE, EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL: Monday - Friday 8:30 to 5:00 for training. Must be able to provide on-call 24 hours/7 days per week victim advocacy services. Travel Required.

Pay: $14.75
