Bill Rate: OPEN but targeting near to $70-80/hr C2C area
The Network VoIP Engineer will be responsible for moderately complex engineering activities as the planning follow-up, build, and 24x7 support of the enterprise's global Cisco Voice over IP infrastructure including CUCM, Unity, CER, and UCCX. The candidate will document and implement best practices and standards. The candidate will work on multiple projects acting as a junior project leader and issues of moderate complexity that require in knowledge of multiple technical areas.
-Participates in the planning and designing of integrated network solutions of integrated network solutions.
-Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards and policies.
-Maximizes network performance by both monitoring and analyzing performance, troubleshooting problems, tuning, optimizing, and balancing.
-Performs evaluation of network performance issues including: availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
-Secures network by developing network access and controls by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
-Establishes policies and develops controls for network access and monitoring.
-Defines network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
-Leads support and resolution of complex problems and acts as an escalation resource for team members and customers.
Qualifications & Experience"
-3+ years of IP-related Telephony experience
-3+ years experience working with UC&C concepts and products.
-Strong technical knowledge related to network protocols, security, firewalls, routing, switching, optimization, video, voice gateways, load balancing, intrusion detection/prevention, log and packet analysis.
-Strong knowledge of UC&C products, technologies, and solutions, including: voice/PBX/TDM/telephony/IPT/VoIP, messaging, the H.32X and SIP suite of standards, IP communications and protocols including QOS/COS, TCP, UDP, RTP, SCCP, MGCP, as well as presence, instant messaging, directories, federation, etc.
-Strong familiarity with some of the following: Cisco Unified Communications Manager/Call Manager, Cisco Unity/Unity Connection, Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX), Cisco Unified Meeting Place, Cisco Unified Presence, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Unified Mobility, or Cisco Unified Communications ManagerExpress.
-Hands-on experience with the following Cisco products: Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection Messaging, Cisco Unified Presence Server, variety of digital and analog voice gateway products especially Cisco ISR routers, full complement of Cisco hard and soft IP phones/endpoints
-Solid knowledge of voice protocols such as SIP, H323, MGCP, SCCP.
-Strong understanding of SRST, MPLS, DMVPN, IPSEC and WAN networks.
-Education: Related certifications: CCNP, CCVP, or CCIE Voice.
