The position encompasses that of an OB/GYN Generalist at the Yale New Haven Hospital Women s Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide patient care to the patients of the YNHH Women s Center (YNHHWC) for the full range of general OB/GYN conditions. These services will include but are not limited to:
supervision and/or direct patient care in the Women s Center; supervision and/or direct patient care for patients undergoing procedures in the Women s Center
Supervision will include supervision of resident physicians, fellows, medical students, and any other YNHH- approved trainees assigned to the YNHHWC.
Provide consultation to any APRN, Physician Assistant, other service of the PCC ( Adult Medicine and Pediatrics) or other staff member assigned to the YNHHWC.
When assigned by either the Medical Director, Practice Administrator, or their designees, provide supervision and/or direct patient care to the patients of YNHH within the institution. This may include the Operating Room(including supervision and/or direct patient care of patients undergoing Ambulatory Surgery), Emergency Department, Inpatient Units, Diagnostic Imaging, etc.. Inpatient coverage of the service includes but is not limited to : supervision and/or direct patient care of YNHHWC patients in L& D; supervision and/or direct patient care in the Operating Room; supervision and/or direct patient care on the postpartum unit or while recovering from surgical procedures.
When assigned by either the Medical Director, Practice Administrator, or their designees, participate in Quality Assurance, administrative functions, committee work, educational efforts, community events, or other activities which pertain to the YNHHWC appropriate for an OB/GYN Attending Physician. It is expected that the Attending Physician will participate in the didactic program of resident and medical school teaching as determined by the Residency Director and the Medical Student Clerkship Director in conjunction with the Medical Director of the YNHHWC.
