Salary Range: $10.50 - $13.00/hourly
Work Schedule. This is a part-time position: Monday – Friday (hours to be determined); non-exempt position. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Summary: The incumbent will take orders from customers and engage in providing courteous and rapid service to all guests.
20% -Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
15% -Inputs order on iPad.
15% -Relays order to kitchen clearly on Point of Sales system and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
15% -Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
10%-Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
10%-Ladles soup, brews coffee, and performs other services as determine by establishment’s size and practices.
5%-Other duties assigned.
Requirements: Incumbent must possess: high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups, i.e. customers, clients, and other employees of the organization; ability to: calculate figures and amounts such as discounts; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra; and the ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Incumbent must also demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. Fingerprinting will be taken and checked by the California Department of Justice and the FBI. The incumbent is responsible for the fingerprinting processing fee. A completed UAS employment application is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear; taste or smell. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
