Distribution Warehouse Lead Operator
This is a new company that is opening its doors soon!! Our client is a leading manufacturer of fasteners, screws, nuts, studs, wire rods and many other cold formed products. With a product range of 12,000 parts addresses key markets worldwide such as automotive, agricultural and earth moving machines, industrial and civil constructions.
We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Warehouse Lead Operator at our Aurora facility.
This professional will have the following responsibilities:
•Responsible for receiving, storing and shipping of products to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
•Safely operate fork trucks, reach trucks, swingmast and walkie equipment, packaging machines, small parcel metering and hand tools.
•Manage manpower scheduling, utilization of space and effective management of human/equipment resources.
•Learn and utilize company inventory management software.
•Ensure warehouse layout is optimally aligned for maximum efficiency
•Responsible for ensuring accountability and discipline within department.
•Create, direct, and implement the planning process to assure customer requirements.
•Ensure new associates are properly trained in their jobs and that there is ongoing cross-training of associates
•Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
•Assure all direct reports are aware of their EH&S responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
•Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all the work team.
•Maintain high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
•Work to implement best practices with respect to picking, receiving, shipping and inventory management.
•Assumes additional related responsibilities as required
•Ability to work in a small fast-paced environment.
•Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
•Represent the company in an appropriate manner at all times when dealing with suppliers, couriers, customers and colleagues.
Candidates selected to interview must meet the following minimum requirements for consideration for this position:
•Five to eight years of direct warehouse experience. Fork lift experience is a must.
•Experience in supervision with demonstrated skills in planning, leading, controlling, organizing and staffing.
•Knowledge of MS Office, and experience with warehouse management software.
•A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
