Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations/Warehouse Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Picking/Packing and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. The successful applicant must be able to be flexible on shifts including a 3.5 on/3.5 off schedule including weekends and nights.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop, implement and direct programs to promote a safety culture on site and to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property is a priority.

* Manpower analytical skills - daily and weekly staff planning and scheduling to make sure that each task has adequate resources.

* Conflict resolutions - responsible for resolving customer shipping and receiving issues.

* Analyze reports to ensure profitability of customer account.

* Communicate to the workforce on a daily basis including shift briefs.

* Manage the workforce within the Warehouse Operation to ensure an efficient operation is maintained.

* Supervise picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality and productivity.

* Supervise unloading, receiving and putaway processes in accordance with KN and customer procedures

* Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted.

* Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors.

* Promote and manage a strong Continuous Improvement ethos to generate ideas and projects

* Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.

* Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.

* Navigate around the local WMS (SAP) to ensure transactions and processes are completed in line with customer and KN requirements

* Maintain product locator system, and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.

* Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.

* Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area and inline with internal KN standards.

* Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

* Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.

* Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA an MSDS standards.

* Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.

* Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.

* Adhere to Kuehne + Nagel's Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Program polices and procedures.

* Work with on site customer representatives to ensure a smooth operation and to strengthen customer relation

Qualifications & Experience

* High School Education or Equivalent

* College education is desirable

* Must have three (3) years supervisory experience

* SAP experience is preferred, typically in EWM

* Establish priorities, multi-task and detail oriented.

* Strong motivational skills.

* Possess professional business demeanor.

* PC literate including Excel and Word.

Working Environment:

Office/Warehouse environment

Skills and Experience

* Start up experience is highly favorable

* Experience with a High Tech customer and working environment is recommended

* Successful communication - written and verbal

* Posses a strong Continuous Improvement ethos and has successful CI project examples

* Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills.

* Proven proficiency in a warehouse environment, with working knowledge of WMS technologies.

* SAP experience is highly recommended

* Successful track record in leadership and supervising the work of subordinates.

* Ability to develop effective relationships and provide leadership.

* Establish priorities and capable of multi-tasking

* Possess professional business demeanor

* Experience with personal computers and material handling equipment

* Strong knowledge of MS Office applications a plus

* Analyze reports to ensure profitability of customer account.

* Adherence to Human Resource policies and procedures
