Dewberry is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our growing water engineering practice within our New York, NY office. This is an opportunity for an individual with technical experience and business acumen to become part of a renowned team of professionals working in a great environment and applying the latest technology to a wide variety of water engineering projects. This position will encompass all aspects of water engineering services with an emphasis on water infrastructure development, and will include project management, sub-consultant management, quality control, marketing and client interface. Additionally, this position will require the development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, computer modeling and data analysis. The individual selected for this position will be eligible to compete for appointment as Assistant Department Manager of the Water Resources Department in New York City.


Lead the water engineering practice in the NYC office with primary focus on NYCDEP as a client.


Assist the department manager to manage all facets of projects from start to finish and ensure our services meet a high standard of quality.
Manage contracts, project scope, progress reporting, schedule, resources, and budget. Train, coach and mentor water resources department staff.

Lead business development and marketing with local client base and maintain strong client relationships. Primary client will be NYCDEP.
Assist Business Unit Manager in achieving annual office sales, revenue and profit goals by producing proposals, presentations and participating in market and services development for the water engineering sector in New York State.


Lead all interaction with sub-consultants for water projects.

Perform technical review of work done by water resources department staff.","Bachelor's degree (Master's Degree preferred) in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
12+ years of escalating professional experience in water engineering, design, and infrastructure development; however exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
Project Management expertise in local, state and federal level contracts.
Knowledge and experience working in NYCDEP Program; successful project management experience of NYCDEP projects considered a significant plus.
High competency levels in multiple disciplines including hydrology, hydraulics, master planning, feasibility studies, stormwater design, steady state and dynamic modeling, conveyance systems design, master planning, hydraulic structures, pump stations, watershed assessment, stormwater management and utility development, and stream restoration design.
Experience managing a team of professionals with a wide array of skill sets, work with project teams and provide planning, technical leadership, and coordination with supporting technical disciplines to complete integrated design.
Proven ability to effectively achieve positive results in marketing and business development including experience preparing technical and cost proposals for municipal and private clients.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PE License in New York is required.
Must be willing to travel as some travel may be required.
