JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Description/Job Summary
St. Louis Residential has an opening for Relief Companions supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
Essential Functions of this position include:
Provide companionship and friendship to the person supported.
Maintain and accurately account for all of the person's household resources, including possessions and supplies. This includes supporting individual with money interactions in the community, obtaining receipts and record as protocol indicates.
Provide support in purchasing groceries and household supplies.
Provide support in preparing meals, maintaining a clean, sanitary home, reporting any maintenance needs promptly and managing the general household.
Provide needed assistance in taking prescribed medications and documenting as required.
Provide support in reporting any health concerns to physicians, and RHD-Missouri personnel.
Provide needed support in personal hygiene and maintenance of a neat and clean appearance; this may including lifting the complete weight of the person supported or as much as 60% of their entire body weight.
Provide support to the person in pursuing community based interests, including providing transportation when needed. When providing transportation to individuals served by RHD-Missouri, ensure that vehicle the employee is using is maintained in a safe and
Honor choices and preferences as identified in the person's individual support plan.
When applicable, follow interventions/preventions identified in the Behavior Support Plan and/or Crisis Plan.
Participate in scheduled meetings, training activities and provide accurate information about the person supported as requested by RHD-Missouri.
Perform any other unlisted duties that are related to the well-being of the person supported as requested by RHD management staff.
Assure appropriate Team Leader is advised in advance of inability to work as scheduled.
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Staff must possess a High School Diploma or equivalency. Prior to assuming a role as weekend relief staff, candidates must successfully complete all required trainings, show proof of vehicle insurance, possess a valid driver's license, and agree to allow the
agency to complete a criminal and social services background check.
Pay is a flat rate of $160 per weekend day or $10 per hour, whichever is less; position includes mileage reimbursement. If weekend staff is able to work every weekend regularly, we can offer full benefits including health insurance and paid time off.
Required Trainings for this position include successful completion and ongoing certification :
CPR and First Aide
Level I Med Aide
Individual Service Plan Training
Other RHD-MO Trainings will be required within 45 days of hire
