JOB DESCRIPTIONspan B Job Description: /B br br The Technology & Management Solutions Group provides a broad range of services related to information technology support for the Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the DC–metro area. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer I to provide a mid-level installation, maintenance and operational support of IT infrastructure software and servers, websites, and databases. br br br B Key Responsibilities: /B br br • Provide Tier 3 help desk support for existing Federal and new digital assets br • Address Severity 1, 2, and 3 technical-related issues br • Implement and unit test defect fixes for high severity issues br • Provide Tier 3 infrastructure support for existing and new Federal digital assets br • Coordinate with key Federal operational personnel as required br br B Basic Qualifications: /B br br • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field br • Minimum of 3 years of experience with MS Active Directory 2008 and/or 2012 as a primary role or one of the roles br • 3 years combined experience with: br ul
li MS Windows 2008 or Windows 2012 server environment /li /ul
li SQL Server 2008 or 2012 support and maintenance /li /ul
li General knowledge of SQL queries and SQL statements /li /ul
li VMware v4, v5, and/or MS Hyper-V /li /ul
• 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer providing Tier 3 help desk and infrastructure support br br B Preferred Qualifications: /B br br • MCP, MCSE, MTA, MCTS, or equivalent certificates are not required but highly desirable. br • Knowledge of Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM) or other Automated Backup Solution br • Knowledge of the MS System Center 2012 r2 Suite particularly: br • Operations Manager (SCOM) or other monitoring solutions br • Configuration Management (SCCM) or equivalent application deployment solutions. br • Virtual Machine Manager(MVVM) or vSphere or equivalent br • Knowledge of DevOps processes. br • Experience with Amazon Web Services br B /B br B Professional Skills: /B br br • Solid knowledge of interaction design principles, including usability and accessibility issues, and the impact of technical issues br • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills br • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities br • 3 years of experience in Agile and iterative development methodologies br • Strong customer service orientation br • Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment br • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and demanding environment br • Effective time management and prioritization practices br • D
