The Role Wordsmiths are a central part of Business Development at Palantir. We collaborate with teams across the company to surface and secure new business opportunities. On any given day, we re writing a formal proposal to win a new contract, drafting market research to help inform procurement processes, or creating a presentation deck describing our impact with a customer. As a Wordsmith, you handle language the way our developers handle code, meaning you strive to be the best at what you do and you perform with agility in any environment. You will work alongside our engineers to translate highly technical and complex concepts into clear, concise, and powerful written products. We are prose experts, but our work extends beyond writing itself to researching potential international government customers and understanding how they think about their problems. We work across different countries and verticals in areas such as law enforcement, intelligence, health, cyber security, finance, and regulatory oversight. Because we take on a wide range of issues, Wordsmiths are highly adaptive and quickly overcome steep learning curves. Our backgrounds are diverse, but we all have a passion for the written word, and a commitment to excellent execution. A WORLD-CHANGING COMPANY

THE ROLE

Wordsmiths are a central part of Business Development at Palantir.

In this role you will:

* Write responses, solo or collaboratively, to contract competitions and requests-for-information from potential customers.

* Write concept papers and marketing documents and create presentation decks to support customer outreach.

* Identify new customers and opportunities in collaboration with the broader business development team.

* Gain deep knowledge of our products and their applications to a variety of use cases.

* Document new offerings and technologies.

* Handle complex government proposals involving multiple teams across different Palantir offices.

What We Value
* BA/BS (or MA/MS/JD/MBA/PhD) or equivalent experience.

* At least two years of experience (typically more) in a role that requires significant writing, communications design, communications strategy, and/or management of complex projects.

* Extraordinary writing and editing ability.

* Ability to quickly learn technical concepts and thrive in a highly technical environment.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Ability to travel between 25-75% depending on project.

* Experience with government contracting.
