JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Appointment Coord Supervisor is responsible for the daily running of the OR Scheduling office. He/She is to monitor the schedule and make appropriate changes to facilitate the flow of the schedule prior to the day of surgery. The Appointment Coordinator Supervisor is responsible to maintain the Surgical Services statistics on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Appointment Coordinator Supervisor is a primary liaison between the Physician Office Staff and the OR scheduling personnel. 1. Reviews bookings on a daily basis to assure accuracy and completeness; trouble shoots questionable bookings and educates staff on errors and omissions. 2. Assures that MD privileges are reviewed yearly and updates privileges as necessary and submits same to OR Director for OR Committee approval. 3. Schedules all elective surgery; avoids conflict in schedule; assures that special equipment, supplies and room are available. 4. Reviews schedules daily to improve flow of OR schedule. Works with Nurse Managers as appropriate to facilitate the OR schedule. 5. Updates booking guides, physician times and other data elements when necessary; notifies physician's office of time changes; alerts appropriate personnel of questionable bookings. 6. Assures availability of supplies and initiates request for special supplies for individual surgical procedures. 7. Assures accuracy of data input and checks and corrects data validity and statistical reports 8. Educates staff on data entry errors and reports documentation errors to appropriate personnel (Clinician) to educate OR staff. 9. Assures that OR charges are processed daily; assures accuracy of charges and patient information (e.g. billing number) and reports errors and omissions to appropriate personnel for correction or clarification. 10. Tabulates statistics for all departments with the OR on a daily basis. 11. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational & Managerial Competencies. Working Conditions: Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Some secretarial skills. 3. Operating Room terminology. 4. Computer knowledge. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. College degree. 2.
