Concentric Methods is seeking an experienced Area Nurse
Manager. The Area Nurse Manager promotes and restores
patients' health by developing day-to-day management and
long-term planning of the patient care area; directing
and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and
multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing
physical and psychological support for patients,
friends, and families.
This position is contingent upon award.
Performs clinical nurse staff management, providing
administrative supervision and supports for individual
SPS operations, and monitoring SPS reporting to meet
operational data collection requirements
Candidates aggregate SPS data and perform analyses for
assigned sites
Create and submit regular and ad hoc operational reports
Foster professional relationships between customers
Act as customer agency point of contact
Perform routine site visits to monitor individual site
management activities and verify staff adherence to
policies and procedures, foster staff and onsite
management relationships, monitor the status of
individual site environments of care, and provide
hands-on staff orientation, training, competency
verification, and behavioral interventions
Direct collection of site- and program-based data for
operational and site management activities and perform
critical data analyses
Create regional operational reports from aggregated SPS
data to create regional operational reports
Collaborate with the Quality, Safety, Risk Manager, the
Infection Control Officer, and the Environment of Care
and Safety Officer to support a culture of safety for
both staff and end-user clients
Verify performance and documentation of all nursing
staff training and employee health requirements,
including refresher and booster activities
Perform service provision site inspections, client
health record audits, site supplies/medication ordering
approval, authorization for staff leave, notification to
COR of staff vacancies, and outreach service planning
direction and approval
Coordinate interviewing, hiring, orientation and
training of Nurse Coordinators and Nurse Managers
Ensures outreach services and travel follow policies and
Ensures that all Service provision sites are staffed
according to COR s technical direction and that work
schedules are modified to meet fluctuating workloads
May collaborate with operations leads to develop best
clinical practices and future policies and SOPs
Performs required quality improvement reviews of each
assigned site within area
Communicate with customers staffing contract CORs for
assurance of proper contract management
Identifies patient service requirements by establishing
personal rapport with potential and actual patients and
other persons in a position to understand service
Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating
policies and procedures.
Maintains nursing operations by initiating,
coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and
personnel policies and procedures
Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting
hospital and nursing division's philosophies and
standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of
nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to
other governing agency regulations; measuring health
outcomes against standards; making or recommending
Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting,
orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff
Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and
assigning nursing and staff; following up on work
Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching,
counseling, and disciplining employees; planning,
monitoring, and appraising job results
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing
emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to
patients, friends, and families
Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient
care goals; teaching and counseling patient, friends,
and family and reinforcing their understanding of
disease, medications, and self-care skills
Provides information to patients and health care team by
answering questions and requests.
Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary
team strategies
Maintains safe and clean working environment by
designing and implementing procedures, rules, and
regulations; calling for assistance from other health
care professionals
Protects patients and employees by developing and
interpreting infection-control policies and protocols;
enforcing medication administration, storage procedures,
and controlled substance regulations
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by
monitoring confidential information processing
Maintains documentation of patient care services by
auditing patient and department records
Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual
budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;
initiating corrective actions
Ensures operation of medical and administrative
equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability;
completing preventive maintenance requirements;
following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting
malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment
inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage
reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed
supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by
attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
publications; establishing personal networks;
participating in professional societies
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care
teams by communicating information; responding to
requests; building rapport; participating in team
problem-solving methods
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related
results as needed
Master's degree in Nursing (Graduation from a National
League of Nursing (NLN) accredited school of nursing),
Business, or Health Administration
At least one year experience providing direct care to
patients/clients and at least 1 year supervisory
RN licensure with CPR and AED certification and 3 years
experience in occupational health or related experience
such as public health/community health, outpatient
clinic, emergency department or ambulatory care, or
physician office nursing
CAOHC Certification for audiometry and have attended a
NIOSH approved spirometry course required
Proficiency in performing, assessing, and training staff
in venipuncture, waived testing, audiometry, spirometry,
and ECG competencies assessments for staff nurses
Excellent communication and organization skills and
ability to perform identified nursing supervisory duties
Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change
management principles
Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent problem-solving ability
Must be tactful, discrete, and articulate.
Superior organizational, oral, written, communication
Competent in basic Microsoft Office suite programs to
develop adequate site activity reports and perform
accurate and legible data collection activities as
