b Product Controller - RPG, Real Estate & Securitization

A Product Control role exists within the RPG Real Estate and Securitization area to be part of a team whose main function is to provide control, daily P&L and other analysis to both the business and finance management.

The candidate will be exposed to a range of products from credit derivatives (Single name and Index Credit Derivatives), mortgage and commercial backed bonds and other complex structured products.

The successful candidate will be expected to

ul li Assist in the daily production and reporting of trader P&L. This includes understanding the market drivers behind the P&L through daily conversations with traders and research within the industry such as analyst reports, newspaper articles and internet queries to provide daily and weekly commentary to senior management on the main drivers influencing the business P&L.
li Develop a strong understanding of the trading market and the products traded
li Learn what influences the value of the products that they are supporting
li Take ownership of all facets of the P&L and balance sheet issues surrounding the product.
li Commentary on daily, weekly and monthly P&L as well as Balance Sheet fluxes
li Reconciliation of reported P&L to general ledger. This would include the processing of journal entries.
li Balance sheet review
li Interact with the Front-office, Valuations, Operations and Global Reporting, to discuss and resolve ad hoc issues concerning bookings, valuations, and other areas.

/ul The individual should be a team player, with good communication and problem solving skills and a strong work ethic. The individual should also have the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
ul li Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
li Minimum 5 years work experience
li Require Product control experience preferably in Mortgage Back Securities or fixed income structured products
li Proficient in Excel is required
