Job Description

The Supply and Demand Management (SDM) department is a global and group function serving the requirements of the UBS Divisions and Group Corporate Centre. The SDM vision is to become a leading supply management organization within the financial services industry. Our internal clients and business partners value our contribution and rely on us when it comes to optimizing the banks third-party cost base.

We have already started to bring our vision to life by establishing a centralised view on UBS's third-party cost categories, by encouraging entrepreneurial spirit and commercial creativity within a team context to ensure the most competitive of supplier contracts for services and commodities is accomplished. In the past 2 years there has been a dramatic increase in our global sourcing portfolio.

This role is a new position accountable for all sourcing and commercial management of Corporate Travel and Events & Entertainment for the Americas. The successful candidate will work with two Internal Business Partner (IBP) departments; Corporate Real Estate and Administrative Services (CREAS) and Communications and Branding.

The Head of the sourcing function is based in London to whom this candidate would report.

li To be responsible for working in compliance with SDM processes and procedures.
li To maximise cost savings and non-financial added value.

The scope of the role will include the following commodities:
Corporate Travel:
ul li Airlines
li Hotels & serviced apartments
li Travel management company (TMC)
li Corporate card Company (Expenses)
li Travel risk and reporting
Event & Entertainment:
li Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE)
li Event memberships & debentures
li Client education programs
li Marketing road shows
li Fairs, exhibitions and third party conferences
li To achieve individual cost reduction targets set.
li To manage and lead regional and local sourcing projects involving cross functional subject matter experts.
li To lead negotiations with potential suppliers to achieve best commercial results.
li To arbitrate for UBS when supplier disputes arise.
li To focus on proactive sourcing to deliver maximum value and leverage your expertise.
ul li University degree (ideally in economics or Supply Management) or Travel, Event & Entertainment industry experience equivalent
li Equivalent certification as Sourcing/Procurement professional or industry experience for more than 4 years
li 4+ years experience in the relevant industry environment, preferentially within the sourcing area
li To be very organised and methodical
li Widespread cross-functional interaction with various UBS leadership requires maturity and a strong emphasis on concise and accurate communication, both written and verbal
li Impeccable command of English language (written and verbal communications skills German would be advantageous)
li Ability to impact/influence decisions & individuals without formal authority
li Able to contribute effectively and multi task in fast moving environment
li Strong negotiation skills - proven contract negotiation skills
li Strong presentation and analytical skills
li Ability to understand, interpret and draw conclusions from management and financial data
li Cost focused, with emphasis on "quality, value and efficiency
