Certified Medical Assistant who provides clinical care under the supervision of the physician(s) and practice manager for the patients of the practice. Serves as a liaison between the patients and provider. Performs Medical Receptionist and other clerical duties including heavy phone work, scheduling and medical record management



RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Smiles, making patients/visitors feel welcome and important; makes direct eye contact; assists patients with sign in process; responds promptly to patients needs, including assisting them with form completion; monitors flow in waiting areas and exam rooms, and makes patients and team members aware of delays.



Promotes patient satisfaction through demonstrated commitment to providing excellent service by interacting in a friendly, helpful manner.

Communicates potential patient satisfaction issues to the manager. Keeps patient informed regarding the practice s performance on patient satisfaction surveys and works to improve overall satisfaction.



Performs medical assistant duties in a safe and efficient manner. Consistently, accurately and independently prioritizes and completes clinical assignments within office guidelines. Prepares patient for examination and treatment; takes brief patient history that includes chief complaint, vital signs, and weight; assists physician with procedures



Assists the physician with coordinating patient care in the office, hospital, to referring physicians, and ancillary facilities. Ensures communication among physician, patient, and outside referral sources is accurate and timely.



Coverage of front desk including heavy phone work, scheduling and medical record management



Proactively initiates phone calls to ensure patients are provided with all necessaryinformation. Informs patients of test results according to guidelines of the practice and care or follow up instructions. All information relayed to patients is clearly and accurately documented in the patient s chart, signed and dated. Responds to calls as per office protocol and HIPAA guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Graduate of accredited school of Medical Assisting.

* 1 year experience in a medical office preferred

* National Certified Medical Assistant certificate required

Must be comfortable giving injections to infants/children * CPR certification
