Overall Purpose:

This position will provide technical support and expertise for the lifecycle activities of Transmission and Distribution structures and assets including towers, structures, supports foundations, fencing and other associated equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

* Maintenance Planning: Identify and implement inspection and testing programs to determine the current state of T&D assets.

* Serve as Program Manager for cost effective asset replacement projects and programs to address aging infrastructure and performance issues. Prioritizes programs and projects to align company objective and system needs.

* Technical Support: Provide maintenance engineering, subject matter expertise, and technical support to engineering, construction and maintenance personnel to address field conditions and/or technical specification matters.

* Preventive Maintenance Management - Establish tailored preventive maintenance programs for assets based on asset criticality and health to increase asset life. Provide maintenance technical support to field operations personnel to ensure effective application of sound maintenance practices and testing procedures are followed.

* Other duties as Assigned

Education/Experience Requirements:

Roles at this level require a Bachelor's of Science, Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university. Relevant experience to be successful in the given role is typically 3+ years.

Decision Impact:

Problems and issues faced are vague. Draws on past experience on a regular basis. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Scope:

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing ones own time and work flow. Responsibilities are generally tactical in nature and work is typically of moderate to complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently.
