We re looking for a talented science writer who can help tell the JDRF story to multiple audiences across a variety of media. The successful candidate will work on a content team that translates research, advocacy and fundraising progress into powerful narratives that inspire people to take action. The successful candidate will collaborate with Research, Development, Mission, Creative and Digital teams to write, curate, edit and manage content for a broad array of assets that tell the unique value proposition of the JDRF story.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the Director, Content the Communications Manager/Writer will:
Communicate scientific concepts and cutting-edge research progress to a lay audience.
Write creative, compelling copy that drives audiences to engage with organization by volunteering, donating, fundraising or advocating.
Write quickly and accurately across external channels, including blog posts, ecomms, progress reports, profiles, donor proposals and speeches.
Capture and conceptualize story ideas by developing and maintaining working relationships with Marcom and Research teams, chapters and national JDRF programs.
Collaborate with and influence key internal and external stakeholders.
Lead projects from start to finish by creating thorough project plans and tracking milestones.
Continually improve performance and effectiveness of projects and assets by capturing, monitoring and gathering metrics; making adjustments and recommendations as necessary.
Assist with content taxonomy and asset management to minimize duplicate assets and messaging and maintain up-to-date content.
Create high quality communications assets, from initial concept through delivery of final product, that promote the organization s brand, mission and strategic priorities and create engagement with our constituents.
