JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Community Affairs Coordinator implements corporate citizenship and other programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities*: Minority and Women Business Enterprise Program Administer the M/WBE program for the business unit, including maintaining employee awareness of the Program, identifying, and referring minority and women businesses to assist the Company in meeting its commitments and goals. Monitor the level of first and second tier M/WBE participation on all projects to achieve established company goals. In conjunction with Purchasing, ensure prime subcontractors have submitted an M/WBE Utilization plan as part of their contract. Obtain current written documentation/certifications validating the legitimacy of minority and women business enterprises. In conjunction with field/engineering and accounting, ensure M/WBE reporting requirements are met. Working with Purchasing, identifying potential certified M/WBE subcontractors. Compile, distribute and update the business unit directory of potential certified M/WBE bidders. Where there are M/WBE project-specific requirements, develop programs to encourage the participation of M/WBEs. Identify and recommend local, community, and city organizations for business unit to engage with.
Operations Identify opportunities to best incorporate Community Affairs requirements into core business. Working with Human Resources, participate in administering policies and programs relating to Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Compliance and Diversity. Ensure business unit compliance with OFCCP regulations. Understand the impact of economic and social issues and trends facing the company to assist in the development of a Community Affairs plan and ensure that Community Affairs goals are linked with the company s, business units, and region s goals and objectives. Identify targeted opportunities for community participation and promote employee engagement in those activities Provide information for proposals and participate in development of sales presentations, participating in presentations as needed.
Community Outreach Coordinate, organize, and implement the Turner School of Construction Management. Implement the Youthforce 20/20 and other educational programs. Prepare and maintain the preparation of records and administrative reports on the utilization of minority, women and tradespersons and/or local residents on company construction projects where required. Identify community-based organizations, advocacy groups and trades organizations for local and diverse workforce. Represent Turner at various community, business and education events. Actively support employees involvement in Community Affairs initiatives that promote a positive culture within Turner and foster connectivity of Turner staff.
