Althea is currently seeking a Crystalomics Associate III. Althea s Crystalomics team is a group dedicated to protein crystallization for the development of sustained release and high concentration formulations. Crystalomics is a platform unique to Althea and has been utilized to develop alternative drug delivery formulations of drug substances that are advancing into clinical trials.



The Crystalomics Associate III develops and characterizes crystalline protein drug product formulations for feasibility studies. This may include developing or scaling up crystallization conditions as well as developing low viscosity formulations. This role also creates protocols and maintains imaging and analytical instrumentation and regularly exercises technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments. The Crystalomics Associate III solves complex problems in creative and effective ways, and provides leadership for development projects and efficiency improvements of established techniques and workflows.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both formulations and industry experience.

Responsibilities:
Develops feasibility drug product formulations for crystalline protein slurries.
Develops crystallization and scale up method protocols and maintains imaging and analytical instrumentation.
Performs research and development experiments for projects and products in collaboration with others.
Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.
Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement.
Contributes to project progress within scientific discipline through innovative research, and communicates results effectively within the group and to clients.
Applies established principles, theories and concepts in areas of responsibility with a firm knowledge of related disciplines.
Responsible for identifying patentable inventions and acting as investigator in conducting experiments.
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
Provides technical guidance to team members.
May mentor junior researchers.
Leads client projects and provides client updates.
Drives projects to completion and successfully disseminates progress to group. Project completion will have influence to other departments.
Maintains laboratory notebooks, prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.
Complies with GLP regulations and creates and updates SOP s.
Embodies Althea s cultural values by aligning daily actions with department goals and company culture.
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company s policies and practices.
