Scope Required to interact with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting and Customer Service personnel, as well as members of the Technical Support and Technical Services Departments. Application development/support and troubleshoot customer problems in cooperation with Sales and Distribution. Essential Functions: Specifies product for customer applications in response to direct customer contact or indirect customer contact through sales, engineering or customer service representative leading to quotation through quote cell or territory manager. Liaisons with Manufacturing and Engineering Departments on matters regarding product performance, product design and product quality. Participates regularly on Customer Concerns and Satisfaction Teams. Provides input in new product design and development. Assists customers with troubleshooting of nonperforming installed products. Liaisons with Service Department to authorize warranty repairs, solicit customer purchase orders for non-warranty repairs and inform customers of installation issues that need to be rectified for proper operation of the product. Supports Accounting Department in confirming disposition of credit for returned product. Supports Customer Service Department in technical matters beyond the scope of the customer service representative function. Assists in the training of new territory managers, new customer service representatives and new engineers. Acquire and maintain high level technical knowledge of new, existing and evolving products. Assists in developing documentation that will be used for or in technical papers or quotes as well as product quality testing. Complete quality and performance testing for standard and custom built customer solutions.


Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in science or engineering discipline. 1-2 years of experience in an application support or engineering environment. Aptitude in system troubleshooting to apply in service/customer support or call center capacity. Good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills (written and oral). Good telephone manner. Technical aptitude and experience for mechanical and chemical applications. Willing to travel for customer visits, training and for personal development opportunities. Knowledge of general Sales, Marketing and Business. Influence on decision-making process. Ability to read or create a technical drawing.
