Stanford Medicine is looking to hire a skilled professional to contribute to its overall digital strategy and help increase awareness of Stanford Medicine externally. The role requires someone who has strong technical skills as well as writing/content production experience.


Using a variety of analytics tools, provide insight into the digital media behaviors and preferences of key audiences, measure and assess the effectiveness of various digital media platforms, and advise digital teams on which platforms should be used to promote which messages.
Manage social listening efforts and prepare periodic reports for digital team and Stanford Medicine leadership.
Research, write stories, and provide event coverage for Stanford Medicine's highly-read blog, Scope, and on an as-needed basis provide technical support for blog.
Prepare periodic content for the School of Medicine's various other channels, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and working with a variety of stakeholders, maintain school's top-tier websites by posting new material and updating content.
Work with content team to create and implement effective SEO strategies.
Manage School of Medicine's YouTube presence.
Coordinate a strategic approach toward use of paid media to amplify Stanford Medicine digital media programming where appropriate.
Identify emerging social media technologies and remain current in digital marketing industry trends and best practices.

Communications professional with 5-7 years of digital experience
Intermediate or advanced technical skills in WordPress
Intermediate or advanced technical skills in Google Analytics; experience with Google Data Studio a plus
Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and managing websites
Familiarity with using listening tools and running reports
Knowledge of SEO best practices and tactics
Demonstrated ability to effectively write and edit for social media and to translate complex ideas into easy-to-understand messages
Experience facilitating communication across technical/development and content teams
An understanding of the biomedical research and health care landscapes a plus


Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.


Knowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, current and future trends.
Excellent writing and analytical skills.
Demonstrated problem solver.
Ability to leverage current and future trends to help an organization succeed at the initiative level, for a specific group, team or unit.
Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
Experience leading highly-functioning teams.


Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
