The Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA currently seeks applicants at the Associate and Full Professor rank for a dynamic and visionary leader for the position of Professor and Chief of the Liver and Pancreas Transplantation Division. The UCLA liver transplant program provides services for infants, children and adults focusing on innovative surgical techniques, advances in immunosuppressive drugs, and quality patient care. The Chief will provide leadership and planning for a large multispecialty transplant service while promoting a mutually supportive environment and sense of community.
We are seeking outstanding candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. Applicants must have a MD, and/or MD, PhD, and be a respected active clinical surgeon with a distinguished record of clinical excellence in surgery, creative research productivity, and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will foster the growth and development of the state-of-the-art transplant programs while maintaining the strengths and building toward future success in all domains of academic surgery. Additional requirements include eligibility for California medical licensure, and documented experience and expertise in mentoring junior faculty. Compensation is commensurate with AAMC standards.
