JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Wolters Kluwer Global Platform Organization co-creates products and solutions with Wolters Kluwer businesses around the globe to serve professionals in the Legal, Tax, Heath, Finance and Compliance sectors. This wide and growing array of solutions supports business units in building and expanding their online product portfolios. The Global Platform Organization provides global leverage of industry and customer insight, driving technology capabilities for local product innovation.
Wolters Kluwer Health (WKH) is a leading global provider, with approximately 2,600 employees in 36 countries worldwide, of information for professionals and students in medicine, nursing, allied health, pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry.
There are 2 large initiatives underway. The two initiatives are working through a Vendor Transition and then managing the new Ovid Platform team. We are also undergoing a Linux Migration; Migration largely involving Ovid Platform function. These are exciting initiatives as we are growing as our product and platform expands to meet increased demand in the market.
Our new ePlatform Manager will be responsible and play significant role in transforming and revolutionizing our current platforms to prepare for significant growth, drive continuous improvements, help drive overall architectural vision with our Enterprise Architects and take products from concept to reality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Ensure Quality products are built and delivered to our Customers on our Platforms, on time and on budget
*Hands-on technology leader who can align with Global Platform IT strategy
*Define platform IT strategy collaborating with key stakeholders
*Keep projects under IT-budget and look for continuous efficiencies in delivery
*Participate in project planning sessions with Scrum Masters, business analysts, Scrum teams, Product Managers, Architects to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
*Participate in Technical design reviews, architectural assessments and provide input into the design and recommendation
*Establish technical standards and best practices for application development
*Communicate timely and accurately project-related risks, issues and status updates to the stake holders
*Ability to work with UX, Product, developers and Scrum Masters to create a collaborative work environment
*Ability to work in a matrix organization with multiple teams and cross team collaboration with Shared Services across the organization
*Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them effectively in the projects
*Act as a change catalyst with Innovation within IT; An Agile mindset with an appetite for continuous change and continuous improvement
*Develop and guide career paths of direct reports
Bachelors Degree, strongly preferred with an additional preference for Computer Science or MIS, leveraged candidates.
Candidates without a degree will be considered provided they have more than 6+ years experience in software development, and at least 2 years in leading teams.
Strong Preference: Masters degreed professionals.
*2-4+ years of leadership/management experience with proven record of delivery on mission critical applications using Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies
*Managed and led 8-10 member Global teams with a mix of onsite and offshore resources
*6+ years of hands-on software development experience
*Preferred: 4-6+ years of web application development experience using Java and/or C#
*Mobile development experience using Hybrid technologies such as Phonegap is desired
*Experience with C++ is big plus
*Strong Software Design and Architecture Knowledge
*Experience with SOA and Micro services Architecture
*Cloud platform experience is required; strongly prefer experience with AWS or Azure as this is used by our teams
*Experience with at least one or more of these Search Platforms (Solr/ Elastic Search/ Endeca /FAST) is a plus
*Experience with TFS and Continuous integration tools similar to Jenkins is required
*Strong understanding of different testing methodologies - Unit testing, API testing, Functional testing, Regression testing, Performance testing, and Security testing
*Having a startup mindset with Quick Develop/Test/Deploy cycles is a must
*Experience working in the Publishing Space is desired with Publishing experience in Medical Space considered a plus
