DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director. We recently received internal endorsement to create an Emergency Medicine Residency at Loyola University Medical Center. The residency will be a three-year program with six residents per year. We have an ambitious timeline for the first class of residents to start in July 2019. To meet this deadline, we are seeking an energetic, highly motivated and talented candidate for the Residency Program Director position. The successful candidate will have adequate protected time to create the infrastructure for a first-rate training program.

Candidate Qualifications:
- Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
- Have previous leadership/administrative experience
- Be willing to combine Administrative and Diagnostic (teaching) responsibilities (50/50)
- Have strong administrative and team building skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited emergency medicine residency program and graduate medical education administrative experience prior to appointment.

Candidates with recent scholarly activity such as peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publications or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees and/or educational organizations highly encouraged to apply.

Loyola is an active EMS Resource Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, regional burn center, and cardiovascular facility with an active aero-medical transport program. The positions will include a faculty appointment to Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes occurrence-based malpractice coverage.
