Manufacturing Engineer Co-op

General Summary: Enhance factory productivity, cost reduction and product quality through the analysis, continued improvement and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, methods and product design.

Responsibilities: Support Lean Manufacturing including 5S, Design for Excellence and Maintenance Excellence. Improve manufacturing efficiency by improving work methods, labor standards, material flow, and routings. Work with shop floor personnel and design engineers to decrease costs, increase production, reduce waste and refine product design. Develop standard operating procedures for various manufacturing processes. (SOP s) Provide analysis data to procure new or upgrade equipment and tooling to achieve maximum capacity, productivity and cost reduction.

Typical Projects:

Resolve current continuous improvement projects. Resolve corrective action requests. Continually improve Unison designs.

Product Development Engineer Co-op

General Summary: Assist the product development engineer through all stages of product development. Aids in the development of new products, redesigned products, and special design requests. Participate in cost reduction and quality improvement projects. Provide technical support for shop floor problems and field problems.

Responsibilities: Participate in shop floor problem resolutions. Assist in field problem resolutions which may include travel to jobsites and interfacing with customers along with generating a corrective action to reconcile any outstanding issues. Participate in value engineering projects. Aid in agency approval of products including AMCA and UL.

Assist with laboratory testing of products which includes: structural, electrical, air performance, and sound performance testing. Interpret test data, write technical reports and communicate results to engineers. Analyze, design and document parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor and other in house tools. Fabricate and assemble new product prototypes and provide feedback regarding designs.

Typical Projects: Product testing, product demonstration design/construction, engineering documentation, product design/re-design, analysis of returned goods and value engineering projects

Technical Service & Parts Engineer Co-op

General Summary: Assist the technical service and parts team in all work functions. This may include the creation and analysis of service data, fulfillment of Parts and RGA requests.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in plant check/test/start-up of units prior to shipping to customer job site.

* Responsible for word processing and spreadsheets, CRM and document management as it relates to service reports, and documentation of procedures.

* Work with UCT parts group on securing and processing parts orders. Assist in field problem resolutions which may include travel to jobsites and interfacing with customers along with generating a corrective action to reconcile any outstanding issues.

* Education of field service personnel, contractors, maintenance personnel, and other end users on proper product maintenance and services practices.

Typical Projects: Product testing, engineering documentation, product design/re-design, analysis of returned goods and parts/service data.
