JOB DESCRIPTIONEpsilon Systems Partners has a full time position as an Engineering Technician III (Antenna Repair) supporting the SWRMC Production Department. The Engineering Technician III position will include assessing and repairing all type of shipboard electronics and Antenna Systems in the shop environment and completing assessments onboard ships. The successful candidate will perform duties as electronics technician on shipboard antennas in a shop and/or ship environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Refurbish and repairs antenna waveguides. * Use a variety of precision measurement standards and instruments such as generators, oscilloscopes, and analyzers to perform functional test and calibration of electronic test equipment serviced. * Use drawings, prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to locate defective components and perform repairs * Work with published technical directives and equipment specifications which outline specific alignment and calibration procedures. * Provide input and assist with process improvement procedures * Assembles and installs equipment, using hand tools and power tools. * Supports other trades as required to include assisting in rigging, disassembly, reassembly and inspection of mechanical and electrical equipment, systems, and components. * Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power tools as instructed * Applies principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. * Applies technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. * Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. * Follows technical manual and work procedures packages to maintain, repair or overhaul various equipment.
Other duties as assigned within the corrosion control product family.
Required Qualifications: * Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent experience and attended a military electronics/technical course. * Minimum 4 years' experience troubleshooting and repair of shipboard electronics/antenna systems. * Must have or be able to obtain DOD security clearance. * Must be knowledgeable of Navy standard troubleshooting techniques and Navy Quality assurance practices. * Must have a working knowledge of electronic principles involved in the generation and measurement, of such elements as VSWR, voltage, current, impedance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance. * Knowledge and experience in military terminology procedures. * Have knowledge and understanding of schematic symbols and color codes to identify the value, tolerance, and location of components. * Must be skilled in making adjustments to potentiometers, capacitors, and coils related to such characteristics as gain, distortion, linearity, and sensitivity. Must know how to troubleshoot electronics equipment, do systems planned maintenance, the technician must be able to troubleshoot the equipment to localize defects, and be skilled in soldering. * Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical information contained in schematics, manufacturer's specifications, and clearly defined fault isolation aids, and calibration procedures. * Ability to install modifications to circuits and assemblies in accordance with detailed instructions, and the ability to securely mount components, and arrange wiring to prevent electrical interference or other malfunctions under extreme operating conditions.
Ability to troubleshoot, perform/assist in operational testing, removals/installations, alignments, assembly/disassembly and equipment inspections.
Preferred Qualifications: * ET Navy background preferred * Understand and follow standard and specified safety procedures and operating procedures. * Knowledge of standard items, test procedures and test memos. * Experience troubleshooting and repair of fan wire antenna systems. * Qualify Craftsman 301 for civilians.
NBPI or NACE CIP I certification a plus.
