JOB DESCRIPTION

Description:
Transition of Operations within the NRF Engineering
Department has openings for four (4) Associate or
Intermediate Engineers. In these positions, engineers
will be designing, procuring, and implementing Servicing
Facility Equipment (SFE) for refueling production lines
and developing procedures to startup those product lines
in the new Naval Spent Fuel Handling Facility (NSFHF).
Engineers will be a member of a multi-disciplined team
of equipment design engineers. Understanding of
equipment design principles, experience with designing
equipment for use in manufacturing applications,
process, development, and demonstration of strong
communication abilities is desired. Experience in
engineering Naval Nuclear work is beneficial.
Associate Engineer
Specific duties of an Associate Engineer include:
* Delegated engineering responsibility that supports
design, procurement, and implementation of equipment
to support nuclear handling facility production.
* Assist in the study, design, application, analyses,
test or the preparation of specifications and
processes for systems, materials, equipment, or
components relating to a limited aspect of the
group's function.
* Support other engineers who are performing related
work.
* Prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work.
Identify and complete performance measures including
post job assessments. Meet project and scheduler
requirements.
* Communicate status on a periodic basis to immediate
management.
* Perform analytical evaluations which may include the
application of existing computer models.
* Develop an understanding of component and system
interrelationships.
* Assist in the preparation of technical manuals,
reports, or procedures in accordance with NR Program
quality standards.
* Assist in design, develop, execution, and evaluation
of engineering research and design projects.
* Complete training and work assignments that are
planned to provide experience and familiarization
with the engineering methods and practices of BMPC.
* Obtain and retain necessary qualification to perform
assigned duties.
Intermediate Engineer
Specific duties of an Intermediate Engineer include:
* Delegated engineering responsibility for all aspects
of assigned tasks with guidance on non-routine tasks
and occasional guidance on routine tasks. Resolve
issues in area of cognizance.
* Delegated responsibility in the study, design,
application, analyses, test or the preparation of
specifications and processes for systems, materials,
equipment, or components.
* Provide technical support and oversight for field
operations.
* Team with other engineers performing related phases
of the technical work to ensure integration of
activities and plans.
* Prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work.
Identify and complete performance measures,
including post job assessments. Meet project and
schedule requirements.
* Communicate status on a periodic basis to immediate
management.
* Perform analytical evaluations which may include the
development and application of computer models.
* Expand on understanding of component and system
interrelationships.
* Prepare revisions to technical manuals, reports, or
procedures in accordance with NR Program quality
standards.
* Design, develop, and support the execution and
implementation of engineering research and design
projects.
* Understand and implement the BMPC engineering
policies and procedures in area of cognizance.
* Obtain and retain necessary qualifications to
perform assigned duties.
Requirements:
Associate Engineer:
BS degree in engineering from an accredited college or
university
Intermediate Engineer:
BS degree in engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of two years of relevant
experience based on exceptional performance trend; or
MS degree in engineering from an accredited college or
university
