Job Description:


Manage day-to-day aspects of project


Oversee all staff working on HCP-A Subaward

Biological Specimen collection and storage


Screening and diagnostic interviews

Neuropsychological testing

Oversee scanner operation

Train staff on protocol and procedures


Scanner Operation


Prepare subjects for scanning

1. Educate subjects on study procedures and obtain informed consent.

2. Teach subjects scanning procedures and functional MRI tasks. Our functional MR imaging is an interactive process in which the subject or patient performs a computerized task and provides experimental feedback. Patients must be trained to perform the needed language, memory and navigation tasks. And to use the MR safe input devices before imaging.

ii. Operate MR

1. Understanding of MR methodology

2. Troubleshoot problems that might occur


Coordinate with HCP-A Collaborative Sites


Data Analysis Center, Oxford

i. Provide deliverables in a timely fashion, maintaining reporting deadlines.

ii. Maintain organized documentation and databases as necessary



Coordinating Center, Washington University

i. Provide reporting and documentation as requested or determined by study timeline

ii. Maintain organized documentation and databases as necessary


UCLA Study Administrative Tasks


Maintain IRB compliance at all time

i. Process requests in a timely fashion

ii. Maintain IRB approved records in a HIPAA-compliant system

iii. Handle any adverse reporting

iv. Educate study staff on HIPAA and IRB compliance

Job Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher strongly preferred

Minimum two years experience as SRA. Preferred - SRA Supervisory role.

Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, or procedures to: define the problem or objective; identify relevant concerns or factors; identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; formulate logical and objective conclusions; and recognize alternatives and their implications. All tasks, required.

Skill in establishing priorities, which accurately reflect relative importance of job duties. All tasks, required.

Skill in working as part of a team; collaborating with colleagues. All tasks, required.

Skill in coordinating various actions by determining the time and sequence of events to be taken in accord with standard policies practice. All tasks, required.

Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there changes in workload; changes in assignments; pressures of deadlines; competing requirements; and heavy workload. All tasks, required.

Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. All tasks, required.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to comprehend technical and procedure manuals records written in Standard English. All tasks, required.

Ability to work and practice professional relationships with research subjects, patients and families. All tasks, required.

Computer skills including word processing, email systems, file transfer, spreadsheets, data entry, data base maintenance, including the ability to enter data and maintain study records. All tasks, required.

Working knowledge of Matlab, SPM, FSL, Unix, HTML, Javascript, Preferred.

Fluency in English and Spanish. All tasks, required.

Ability to operate and troubleshoot Siemens MRI System. All tasks, required.

Ability to administer neuropsychological tests as necessary. All tasks, required.

Ability to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft PowerPoint in preparation of research diagrams and presentations. Preferred
