JOB DESCRIPTIONPapyrus-Recycled Greetings (PRG), a division of American Greetings company, is recruiting for an Account Manager Intern for our Sales division. This is a full-time internship and the associate will be located in our office in Westlake, OH with housing provided as necessary.
The ten-week paid internship will begin on May 30, 2018, and offer an opportunity to work on live projects, learn more about the culture at PRG, and participate in networking activities with other associates and leaders of the organization.
The PRG Account Manager- Intern will report directly to the Divisional Vice President of Sales and is responsible for completing four defined projects, under the direction of the DVP, Sales and a delegate training manager, during the 10 weeks of the summer. The experience gained and project work will be focused on the following areas:
1. Learn the Company and Industry:
a. Develop an understanding of Mission, Vision and Values of American Greetings, the brand strategies for the Papyrus and Recycled Greetings brands, the macro and micro economic trends impacting the Social Expressions Industry and develop a recommended distribution strategy for the PRG brands that delivers sustainable growth, especially among the millennial generation . At the conclusion of this project you will present your recommendations to the Sales Leadership Team.
2. Learn the Customer:
a. Working under the direction of Account Executive(s), prepare for a sales call and a prospecting call on a customer. The preparation should include customer research; including identifying key opportunities for this customer segment or channel, identifying a specific product or customer opportunity, preparing the sales presentation, and participating in the sales and prospecting call by delivering all or part of the sales presentation. Assist the Account Executive in all necessary follow up from the sales/prospecting call.
3. Meet the People:
a. Identify key functional areas within the company that are critical to the success of the sales function and meet with a key manager or executive from each of these areas to identify opportunities for improvement in collaboration and partnership present your learnings to the Sales Leadership Team.
4. Work Cross Functionally:
a. Work with the other PRG AEs to identify process improvement for the organization; looking holistically at the PRG business; identify an area for improvement, cost savings or revenue growth. Research potential solutions and/or a course of action. Develop and deliver a presentation showcasing your solution or opportunity to the Sales Leadership Team.
Proficient in MS Office
Must be detail oriented
Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with associates both inside and outside of the organization
Has a sense of urgency and a high level of personal responsibility
Demonstrated leadership abilities on or off campus.
