POSITION SUMMARY:

The Unified Communications (UC) Engineer is responsible for aspects of maintaining, configuring, and sustaining the Cloud VoIP (Contact Center & Back Office) environment including: implementation, maintenance of existing UC environment and configuration of hardware/software and associated platform. In addition, the UC Engineer will possess a broad knowledge of unified communications, networks, and telecommunications. Understanding local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) operations are required to ensure optimum configuration and operation of all integrated systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

o Responsible for all aspects of configuring, architecting and sustaining the Unified Communications environment (VOIP, Contact Center, and other Collaboration technologies) along with the Skype for Business environment.
o Diagnose, research and resolve problems associated (but not limited to) with PBX, ACD, Voicemail, network trunking, CTI systems, VOIP and SIP technologies and software, Five9 Call Recording systems, Cisco network switches, IP addressing, Cisco UCS, VMWare, Microsoft OS, and Avaya application software.
o Work with third parties to maintain telecom (voice) dial plan inventory, cleanup, disconnect and number ports/remote call forward.
o Working with third parties and the Advanced Disposal IT Operations team, possess the ability to resolve Level 2 & 3 system incidents, requests, upgrades, maintenance tasks on the systems listed.
o Coordinating, installing, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities (OC48, T3, T1 PRI, SIP and DS0).
o Assist and collaborate with Network team to develop network design for all UC applications.
o Responsible for participating in project plans and project management.
o Provides knowledge of LAN technologies (Layer 1, Switching, etc.) and collaborates cross-team in support of remote business units.
o This position may require travel by air, car and/or other modes of up to 25% of the time.
o Working knowledge of Five9 Contact Center Solutions.
o Project management experience.
o Experience in contact center operations.
o Understanding of and ability to assist in configuration of Quality of Service (Campus and WAN).
o Knowledge of IP Subnetting, QoS/CoS and IPV4/IPV6 model.
o Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
o Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
o Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work may be required.
o Additional work hours beyond normal duty hours may be necessary, at times, to complete the weekly workload based upon the discretion of the supervisor.
o On-call availability during off-hours in the event of service problems with the system.
o Ability to concisely and effectively communicate and present complex technical information to a varied audience, including technical and non-technical customer representatives.
o Effective time management to allow for involvement in special task order projects as assigned by the supervisor
o Works with other team members, including cross-functional teams, business users, and vendors.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

o High School or College School diploma
o 3 years or greater direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.
o Minimum 5 years' experience in programming and maintenance of VoIP and Contact Center Solutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
