JOB DESCRIPTION

Within Legal Finance & Operations, the Legal Operations team focuses extensively on the processing and payment of outside counsel invoices, as well as the front-end administrative maintenance of the e-billing system used for those invoices. Primary day-to-day responsibilities could include:

? Process outside-counsel electronic invoices using a legal e-billing application, including:
? Closely review invoices received for their content and conformity to GS billing guidelines; enforce compliance by communicating any issues found promptly and directly with outside counsel billing areas
? Work with attorneys and businesspeople to identify appropriate allocations
? Research and rectify rejected invoices
? Support the Operations Team co-leads in Texas and New York
? Develop excellent working relationships with Global Legal Department counterparts to ensure coordinated, consistent handling of legal invoices
? Outside counsel billing and finance teams
? Provide periodic and ad hoc reporting to team and department management of invoice-administration metrics

Skills
? Highly motivated team player with the ability to interact confidently with attorneys, businesspeople, and management of various seniorities
? Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
? Excellent judgment, attention to detail, sensitivity to risk, and discretion, including the ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately
? Excellent organizational skills; flexibility to prioritize and reprioritize as shifting business needs require
? Self-starter; ability to work proactively and independently
? Flexibility in working across time zones covering attorneys based primarily in New York
? Strong understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office
? Ability to learn and operate other programs, internal systems, and online processes quickly and efficiently
? Familiarity with legal e-billing applications a plus
? Customer service mentality is vital
