* The Maintenance Manager makes judgements and takes decisions using own initiative. Providing service to multiple and often remote sites can make the role demanding at times, and includes prioritisation of maintenance resources across Distillation & Maturation (D&M) in line with operational excellence programme.The Technicians and Maintenance Team at Engineering Centres report to the Maintenance Manager. Effective leadership skills are a key requirement for this role with emphasis on Health and Safety and improvements in reliability for sites. This will be delivered through improved planning, continuous improvement and brilliant execution of maintenance activities across D&M.Within Diageo and ISC Malt Distilling there is a focus on World Class practices and standardisation. Maintenance Managers play an integral part in ensuring that engineering centres are delivering these expectations.There may be as many as 12 sites to support with maintenance and an essential part of the Maintenance Managers role is to ensure strong relationships are built.

* + Actively supports Site Operations team in improving reliability and ensure that correct capital investments are made for sites through EEM framework.+ Ensure that Maintenance Teams supports asset reliability improvements across the sites.+ Supports the daily prioritising of urgent maintenance tasks with the planning team.+ Ensure that the Safe Systems of Work for maintenance teams are adhered to and that technicians are competent in carrying out assigned tasks.+ Facilitate and support process improvements and changes within the D&M Engineering centres+ Ensure maintenance comply with all statutory requirements and Diageo standards, eg Customs and Excise, Health and Safety, environmental issues, etc.+ Monitor adherence to maintenance plan and performance targets to meet or exceed external and internal customer expectations. Maintenance plans to meet agreed targets.+ Design and carry out in-house training and awareness programmes for Technicians to meet development needs.+ Fully implement the agreed recommendations of site audits in consultation with the Manager.+ Identify and monitor as appropriate performance indicators relating to MTBF, adherence to plan, PPM completion and continuous improvements.+ Support Manager in proposing maintenance improvement plans. Spending authority defined by Manager within agreed budget areas.+ Produce and review in consultation with Manager stretching budgets designed to achieve improved financial performance

* Qualifications and Experience Required
*
* + Demonstrated an ability to meet management performance standards. Certificate in Management Studies or actively working towards achieving.+ Open learning technical qualification/MAGB Diploma.+ Experience of working in a continuous process industry.+ A thorough understanding of maintenance activities and experience gained both at technician level and also in supervisory role.+ Proactive in identifying opportunities to continually improve the maintenance process.+ Prepared to actively participate in the change process.+ Active in supporting systems for implementing best demonstrated practice.
