* Responsible for all facets of database management to include monitoring, software installation & configuration, upgrading, backup & recovery, performance tuning, database access & security, patching, and capacity audits on Microsoft SQL Server databases\. This includes providing expertise in architecture and design of new systems along with being responsible to research, benchmark, document, and introduce new database technologies to enhance existing systems\. Will collaborate with application developers, O&M administrators, business owners, and architects in design and implementations\. There is also a requirement to manage DISA STIGs and policies for databases\. Documentation of standard database policies and operating procedures is also necessary\. After\-hours maintenance and on\-call support is occasionally needed\.ERAPIAMDERAPJRDCBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or IT related discipline with a total of at least 8 years computer related technical experience\.-6 years of experience with database design and/or administration- At least 5 years of experience with MS SQL Server 2008 or later\.- Experience in O&M activities as a Database Administrator\.- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio including the Activity Monitor, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services\.- Experience with SQL Server clusters, database performance tuning, database monitoring, and database backup & recovery\.- Understand Microsoft SQL Server role and user level object permissions\.- Familiarity with T\-SQL, MS\-DOS batch scripting, and well versed in referential integrity concepts\.- Experience in deconflicting customer requests and requirements to create system requirements\.- Must be a team player and able to work unsupervised in a team and structured change environment\.- Candidates must have completed and be enrolled in Continuing Education \(CE\) with a Security certification or have an \(ISC\)2 CISSP certification\.- Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance\.Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DISA security including IAVA compliance and Security Technical Implementation Guides \(STIGs\) for databases- Experience in O&M activities and with several of the following:
Foglight for monitoring, MS Windows Server 2008/2012, Virtualization \(VMWare\), database application development, and use of BMC Remedy\.- ITIL v3 Foundations certification is a plus\.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce\.
