Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team\. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States\. Missile Defense and Protective Systems \(MDPS\) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications \(C2BMC\), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination\.The Systems Administrator position will be located in Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO\.Position Responsibilities:
1\.Operates and sustains the C2BMC mission systems and/or training systems environment for operational and training missions supported by C2BMC's presence in the Missile Defense Integration & Operations Center \(MDIOC\)\. Training systems support to include operating as necessary the Distributed Multi\-Echelon Training System \(DMETS\) to train, qualify, certify, and maintain Warfighter proficiency at operating locations\. 2\. Responsible for administering, managing and monitoring both systems hardware and software in a complex, heterogeneous computing environment consisting of Sun Solaris, Unix, Windows systems/servers and Cisco, Juniper and other network components\. 3\. Monitors systems management applications and software, generating ad hoc queries in response to queries and various troubleshooting scenarios and recommends/directs courses of action as appropriate\. 4\. Perform level 1 systems maintenance and installation activities for both operational and training environments\. 5\. Provides Help Desk support functions/assistance as required based on area of technical expertise/experience\. 6\. Analyzes logs and system performance and identifies any anomalies for further analysis/correction, Response to faults \(errors\), other incidents and user reported issues/outages\. \- Follow established procedures to respond to events and makes necessary repairs and adjustments/configuration changes\. \- Escalates as required for assistance in isolating the fault and making repairs as necessary\. 7\. Interfaces directly with the C2BMC Watch Officer \(CWO\), Network Defender, Enterprise Controller and customers to provide on\-going trouble status and/or to accept customer trouble claims\. 8\. Performs other systems support/communications duties as assigned\. 9\. Coordinates with JFCC\-IMD, GMD, remote sites and C2BMC systems and network infrastructure, hardware and/or application service providers on various issues and concerns\. 10\. If/when supporting training activities interfaces with and answers warfighter DMETS related questions, assists the warfighter on C2BMC utilization, supports pre\-event training, and the post training debrief\. 11\. Participates in meetings and daily stand ups with C2BMC operations and training leadership, JFCC\-IMD and other war fighter external organizations and other Commands on matters related to systems operations and security issues affecting C2BMC mission systems and systems interfaces\.\- Utilizes trouble ticketing and master station logs to document and update problems encountered/resolved and related actions taken on a daily basis\. \- Coordinates with inter\- and intra\-organization personnel and customers on related areas of interest related to C2BMC and supporting system operations\. \- Familiarizes himself/herself with and executes various systems related operating instructions, checklists, and related tactics, techniques and procedures\. \- Responsible for maintaining and executing restoration and recovery plans and procedures \(to including isolation procedures\) to ensure positive control over systems management and information assurance operations\. \- May be required to review DMETS training scenario data to determine accuracy and assessing C2BMC simulation performance, and participate in White Cell conferences as necessary to support DMETS training scenario execution\. \- May assume added qualifications to perform other crew positions including network management/enterprise control and network defense dependent on need and personal capabilities \- Although highly unlikely the incumbent of this position may need to deploy on short notice and short term TDY to any of MDA's operational theatres as part of a systems support/rapid response team \- Able to create and develop techniques to improve the performance of the network management and monitoring tools\. \- Capable of developing and employing procedures to provide guidance in network related tasks\. \- Able to understand and act upon conflicts with diplomacy and tact, relating to network management, network security and configuration control\. \- Able to advise on network management issues and enforce network management and networks security policy and principles in dealing with internal and external offices and organizations\. \- Demonstrated strong project management and organization skills, including the ability to draft clear and concise reports and to brief daily network operations summaries and pending issues and concerns to senior leaders and a larger audience\. \- Strong customer communications skills\.JRDCC2BMCMSCOMSTRBasic Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience+ Candidate must meet minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification \(Security , etc\)\.+ Secret clearance requiredPreferred Qualifications:
