The Northrop Grumman Corporate Law Department is seeking a paralegal to join our McLean, Virginia based team of qualified, diverse individuals providing legal support and services to the company's Information Systems sector\. The sector provides advanced solutions for military, intelligence, civilian, state and local, international and commercial customersRoles and Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Vice President and Sector Counsel of the Information Systems sector and is one of two paralegal positions supporting a team of nine lawyers\. The legal staff supports a wide variety of contractual, compliance, personnel and other legal matters\. The paralegal in this position will need to be able to work effectively in an often fast\-paced environment, with the skills to be a 'self\-starter' and the judgment to know when to seek additional direction or assistance from the sector lawyers\.U\.S\. citizenship is required\.The key responsibilities of the paralegal in this position will be as follows, under the supervision of one or more attorneys in the sector:
+ Perform basic legal research, particularly in areas relating to Federal government contracting, state/local public contracting, and international contracting+ Serve as a point of contact for all service of process for the sector, and manage responses to third party records subpoenas+ Assist sector lawyers with internal investigations, including coordinating interviews, document collection and document review+ Review agreements and correspondence \(such as teaming agreements, non\-disclosure agreements, real estate transactional documents and reverse FOIA responses\)+ Support lawyers with potential new hire ethics/Conflict of Interest reviews+ Prepare routine correspondence+ Provide assistance to outside counsel retained by the Law Department+ Team with Law Department specialists and staff enterprise\-wide beyond the immediate team attorneys on assigned projects+ Interact with non\-Law Department functions and personnel across the sector+ Update and maintain various Law Department data bases and electronic resources+ Assist attorneys in performing in\-house training, managing internal professional development and similar activitiesBasic Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma plus 4 years additional education and/or paralegal experience+ Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies from an approved ABA program+ Background demonstrating the ability to perform the roles and responsibilities outlined abovePreferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with federal government contracts, including working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation+ Additional education or experience such as a bachelor's degree, experience as a legal researcher or writer, etc\.+ Paralegal or equivalent experience relevant to the roles and responsibilities outlined above+ Paralegal experience in a large law firm setting or large corporate office setting actually performing the roles and responsibilities outlined above+ Experience with intellectual property transactions and licensing+ Experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe Pro, Excel and PowerPoint+ Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently with little supervision+ Ability to determine work priorities, track and manage to deadlines, resolve complex and non\-routine situations and maintain confidentiality+ Ability to be a team player and to work collectively and interact effectively inside and outside of the company+ A current or inactive Secret ClearanceNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce\.
