Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing\.Performs network administration duties and provides technical support and troubleshooting to users\. Responsible for the configuration & maintenance of the Cisco Call Manager & Cisco IP phone Network\. Analyze voice, data, and multi\-media communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices\. Performs network administration duties and provide technical support and troubleshooting to users\. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and participate in special projects\. Provides cross training for other technicians\. Maintains accountability and responsibility for all assigned equipment\.Candidate must have knowledge of DoDI 8510\.01 RMF, 8500\.1 Cyber security, C&A processes and have a strong familiarity with DoD/Army security documentation, system security engineering designs, and network information assurance concepts\. Technical skills and experience include fundamentals of network design and system engineering, security practices and awareness of resources to secure networks\. The candidate should have technical skills related to documenting system security and network information assurance\.The selected candidate will:
\- Analyses voice, video, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices\.\- Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments\.\- Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements\- Create, plan, update and implement network standards and documentation and establish policies based on industry best practices\.\- Design LAN/WAN External Business Partner connectivity\.\- Research and advise on new products and technologies\- i\.e\. WAN Acceleration, VOIP, Video, VSS, MPLS, VPN, NAC, Wireless, multicast across WAN, new network security products or data communication products\.\- Evaluate current network infrastructure, procedures, processes, and network traffic and recommend improvements\- Monitor applicable network resources for updated requirements and compliance directions\.\- Travel may be required to support meetings and to work with distributed personnel in Ft\. Hood or other MTC spoke sites\- Provide input to memorandum of understanding and agreements\- Assist in providing status on site security posture, such as, IAVA,STIG and cyber security compliance\.The position is primarily day shift but requires on\-call support as required to meet operational mission requirements\.Basic Qualifications:
- 3\-5 years' experience DoD Command and Control system experience to include system architecture, security engineering, and network engineering\.- Experienced in problem solving and troubleshooting complex, distributed DoD systems\.- Hands\-on experience with routers, layer 3 switches, and friewalls\.- Knowledge of 24x7 operations and support processes at Regional and Combatant\.- Required Education \(including Major\):
Bachelor's Degree \(engineering related\) or relevant experience and DoDI 8570 certification level \(GSEC, Security , SCNP, SSCP\) or higher\.- Must have an active DoD Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:
CCNA or GSNA Certification is highly desirable\.Command or Training Centers \(FORSCOM, NETCOM, IMCOM etc\.\) is desirable\.
