Job DescriptionWhere Great People Build Successful Careers!The Hanover is seeking a Senior Risk Solutions Consultant to join our growing Risk Solutions team in Texas.The ideal candidate would be located in either the Houston or San Antonio areas and must be able to service both of these areas. This position is based from your home Travel will be 3+ days/week with minimal overnight stays. A company vehicle, laptop and iPhone are provided.Position Summary:
The Risk Solutions Consultant delivers high quality risk evaluations and loss analysis of prospective or existing Commercial policyholders to identify risk, exposure and controls for multiple lines of business, while reporting results for underwriting. The position is an active member of the underwriting team responsible for medium to large commercial accounts primarily covering the San Antonio/Houston area. .Core Responsibilities:
-Conduct risk analysis of renewals and prospective account operations including risk evaluation, loss analysis, and loss control programs within multiple lines of business.- Deliver high level of consultative and technical services and service plans to the account as well as implementing loss/exposure reduction programs and services- Take the initiative to enhance loss control / industry knowledge through participation in educational programs- Objectively considers issues and information, identifies alternatives, decides and implements solution approaches in order to deliver services and provide value- Knowledge of negotiating techniques, subject matter, and strategy to obtain commitment, compromise or settlement in a way that promotes mutual goals or interests.- Provide assistance to the policyholder in the form of detailed action plans, program recommendations, technical training and consultative services- Deliver basic consultative and technical service plans to the account- Participate in underwriting new business or renewal meetings- Builds positive relationships with others to accomplish organizational goals- Acts as technical resource for underwriting and insureds.What is expected to drive success:
- Understanding of the current loss control standards and trends/emerging issues of commercial lines business- Problem solver with solutions to unusual exposures or loss problems- Service and satisfaction orientation to support business growth and profitable business retention- Marketing presentation to influence clients to implement risk improvement services- Desire to exceed standards of excellence- Exhibits a true sense of competitiveness and a drive for results, with a strong desire to win in the most challenging of circumstances- Effectively plans and organizes work to achieve desired outcomesPosition Requirements- At least 7+ years of field loss control or increasing levels of responsibility in related operations.- Solid understanding Commercial insurance, especially Property.- B.S. degree preferred in a related field to include health and safety, science, engineering or equivalent- Professional loss control certification preferred to include CSP, PE, CPCU, ARM.- Expertise in evaluating water supplies and automatic sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 13 standards- Loss control systems or IT knowledge preferred.- High level of skill and competency in Microsoft products such as PowerPoint, Excel and/or Access.- Demonstrated project management skills.-Ability to travel the territory as requiredBenefits to joining The Hanover's team:
