JOB DESCRIPTIONThe successful candidate will serve as a communications technician supporting 24/7 operations of critical real time USAF/ANG mission operations. Must be able to:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and manage telecommunications and networking equipment. Provide reports, complete requests for new service, determine methodology for installing communications service, determine need for configuration changes or modifications to switches, trunks, links, and circuits. The position may require shift work or on-call availability Systems Experience Required For the Position:
One or more of the following systems:
SAN Storage, Server Blade, SQL, SharePoint, C2ISR video data, network performance software or ATM equipment configuration and ATM network troubleshooting.
* 5 years' experience or more is required Skills Required for the Successful Candidate:
The ability to operate, maintain, and manage communications and network systems including; Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), IP routers and switches; video encoders/decoders and analog/digital distribution, Type I encryption (KG-75A, KG-175, etc), Intercom systems, network management software; experience with Fireberd and other test equipment. A working knowledge of and experience in long-haul communications functions and responsibilities as outlined in DISA Circular 310-70-1. Experience with the set-up and use of network monitoring tools and techniques. Required Certifications:
Must hold one of the following certifications:
VMware (VCP5), CCNP and MCSE Server 2008 or higher. All candidates must possess DOD 8570 IAT II level certification. .
